Grow with English
I grow with English, which is part of my life. It helps me grow up and up. Here is what I love to share with all of you.
I was born in a countryside family and raised in the same environment until I finished my middle school for further study in medicine. I found more free time in university and it was exciting for me to make the most of it. Friends advised three things: English, computer and driving, which was actually regarded as the essential skills for the coming new century. I don't like computer so much and driving never appeals to me. One of my friends majored in computer at that moment being a reliable resource I could turn to. My brother likes driving fast cars and always finds lots of pleasure overtaking other vehicles on the roads. I chose English as English and Chinese had been my favorite subjects since I was able to read and write.
I spent 4 hours a day ruminating on English and it soon became my real love. By having a reverence for life, I gradually entered into a spiritual relation with the world. I began to adore all the civilizations which attracted me to pick up more than seven languages, and it was fulfilling to compare different cultures with my own insight.
After working in hospital for 4 years my English proved itself in 1997 when I scored top in the National Examination and was entitled to work for the Foreign Ministry as a diplomat. I felt genuinely fulfilled when saying goodbye to my medical career and equally eager to enter a diplomatic mission, a zestful new atmosphere. When I was traveling on the train from Manchester to Edinburgh, the beauty of the autumn countryside, looking like the oil painting depicted by Keats in his poem, overwhelmed me to a lot of tears. Edinburgh was so stunningly beautiful that you could enjoy a perfect scenery at any point in any direction of the city. Chinese cities are often sprawling with many eyesores and everybody knows they are only governmental works rather than the artistic creation. Just like the real estate, which is for living but in China, it becomes an industry for collecting money.
All my diplomatic experience was marked by beauties of English language and English people with lots of merits and virtues. They are not indifferent, they are inspired with enthusiasm and happy to help. I once learned Shakespeare in Oxford University at weekends for some while and the professors impressed me very much with their views, points and diligence. After coming back to China in 2005, I came across a book in the bookstore and randomly read an article, it was Lu Xun's 藤野先生，which proved another tearjerker. I couldn't help crying at it. Yes, it is true, the teacher is unselfish and undaunted, just like what I found in Britain and many other countries. Are they generous, confident, civilized, or just ignorant and simple-minded? When thinking of the last two negative words, I suddenly feel the narrowness under my suit.
Now I am devoted to teaching English. What I give is simple: to help students construct confidence and find fun in using English. I have collected some sparkling tactics, tips and techniques to enlighten people who are motivated and dynamic. You are the only real obstacle in your path to a fulfilling life, wills create successful careers, just be an active speaker, come into contact with English as much as possible and as often as possible. When equipped with a good mastery of it, you can have a new world, a new life, a new you!
 June 07 女生也是会有工作压力的~最近工作压力很大,在处理的基本都是一些琐碎的我所熟悉的小事.有很多重要的事情却处理不了,导致自己心里很着急. 事缓则圆么?!我觉得在做事情上,这条规则不怎么管用.也许也是因为很多事情和想法是我最近才开始思考和实施的,所以身体不是很适应. 今天早上躺着觉得自己温度不对,一量果然发烧了. 口号总是说说容易做起来难的,不过还是想要列出点计划来,把复杂事情分步做才行:
1). 事情无论大小,努力在当天解决. (事实证明, 解决不了的难题不会自动消失.)
2). 没有复查一遍的计划不能投入施行. (要做负责任的员工)
3). 不评判别人,只做好自己.
4). 永不言失, 也永不言败. (失去很正常,与其自怜不如马上站起来)
5). 没有解决不了的事情, 只有想不出办法的脑袋. (要多交流,比较各种方法)
以上要做到对我来说是很难的, 所以当我成为这样的员工的时候我会请大家吃饭,见者有份,人人监督. |
